From frayed cloth to fine art

Every piece at Living Denim begins with a rescued denim jacket or trouser and ends as a one-of-a-kind artwork. I use hand-cut, unravelled and layered textile fragments to create expressive surfaces that connect sustainability, material memory and contemporary art.

 What I do

I source a range of worn denim in varied hues and textures, each piece bearing the silent trace of human touch, movement and time. My process involves intricate cutting and layering of duotone and coloured compositions, rendered in multiple shades of blue and enriched with hand-dyed florals and printed denim fabrics. With the fabric rooted in labour and durability, I build visual stories that are both universal and intimate, inviting viewers to reflect on the woven threads and frays between humanity, animals, and the environment we share. Its physicality evokes the intimacy of fabric against skin, echoing how we experience nature: directly, sensorially, and often with unspoken reverence.
